Salmon Head Udon

~ Udon Kepala Salmon.

Salmon is high with Omega-3. In Malaysia, Salmon is very expensive Fish compared to western country. My friend in UK cook most every Malay dish with salmon. The price ranging from Rm 25 to RM 80 per kilogram. If you stay in Kuala Lumpur area 'Giant' offering quiet a better price for salmon.

Today, I'm making salmon head udon for dinner. It is very simple recipe. This recipe was inspired by traditional udon recipe. Let's start..

Ingredients:

  • 1 Salmon fish head
  • 3 packed Udon
  • 2 garlic clove, slice
  • 1 inch ginger, slice
  • 1 table spoon cooking oil
  • 2 table spoon soy sauce
  • 1 table spoon white vinegar
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 inch carrot, julienne
  • 1/2 cup mushroom (any mushroom you like)
  • green union for garnish
  • salt  for taste
  • black pepper for taste
Methods:
  1. Prepare the salmon head, make sure it is clean.
  2. Heat the cooking oil.
  3. Fry together garlic and ginger until fragrant
  4. Put in the Salmon head.
  5. Pour water in the pan. Bring up the heat.
  6. Then put in soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper.
  7. When it boiling, slow down the heat.
  8. In the other pan, boil some water to soften the udon. Cook about 3 minutes. Toss it and put in the bowl.
  9. Serve the Udon with the fish head and the soup. garnish with carrot, mushroom and green union.
  10. Then you can dig in. Enjoy!

Look scary, but so tasty. I you want it taste better, squeeze some lemon on it. Yumm..
